My last column generated significant feedback from men blustering about how wr-wr-wrong I am about ascribing the government's hardline stance regarding teachers to patriarchal attitudes about women and work. It even made the radio! Wow! Must have struck a nerve. The responses I received fell along gender lines, the men saying "no way," the women saying "of course." We are all entitled to our own opinion, as they say, but we are not entitled to our own facts.
