Wendy Mackey Jones, Executive Director of PWN Global Honoured As An Iconic Women Leader

Wendy Mackey Jones, Executive Director, PWN Global will be presented the Women Economic Forum 2017 award of “Iconic Women Leaders Creating a Better World for All” during the Women Economic Forum - EU taking place in The Hague from 27th to 28th Jan 2017. The City of Den Haag is supporting the Women Economic Forum to offer a compelling platform to bringing together a rich confluence of inspiring women leaders and achievers from All walks of life. 

The theme for the WEF-EU 2017 is "EU: Reinventing Itself: Women Empowerment & Inclusion." Over 400 women and men from across the EU and Europe are expected to join along with delegates from across the world.  

WEF is the conference arm of the world's largest women's movement of uniting the women of the world beyond boundaries, bias and borders, the ALL Ladies League (ALL). The two day event will have sessions on over a 100 subjects with a range of speakers drawn from various sectors including business, entrepreneurship, corporate leadership, arts and culture, film and television, media, academics, social sector, and government. 

Speaking for the Women Economic Forum, Dr. Harbeen Arora, Founder & Global Chairperson said that WEF is a global conference of the ALL Ladies League to foster empowering conversations and connections among women of extraordinary commitment to foster constructive change in ALL walks of life. Dr. Arora said she was grateful for the wholehearted and empowering support given by The City of Den Haag which is known globally for its very proactive commitment to the cause of women empowerment and inclusiveness. Congratulating the awardees she said that we need to uphold role models in a variety of sectors and make visible the inspiring work being done by so many women across the world. 

WEF events take place throughout the year and across the globe empowering women to expand their business opportunities and increase their global influence through peer exchange, networking across borders while being inspired by some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, authors, speakers, leaders, and celebrities. 

Regional events are held throughout the year in different parts of the world, like in the Hague, followed by London, while Annual event is held in New Delhi, India. There are more coming up this year in US, Canada, Maldives, South Africa, Iceland , New Zealand and Morocco.

About the WEF Awardee:  

Wendy Mackey Jones, Executive Director, PWN Global

Wendy is operationally responsible for the development and management of PWN Global, a professional women’s network represented in 29 cities worldwide, whose aim is to advance gender balance globally.

In her 1st year Wendy expanded the network into the Middle East and SE Asia, introduced new services to meet the needs of nearly 40,000 professional, mobile women globally, and developed strong collaborations with industry, universities, government and NGOs to grow the gender balance movement.

Prior to PWN Global Wendy managed her own organizational development consultancy for 10yrs, working in a wide range of industries across Europe, USA and SE Asia. Prior to that Wendy worked at GlaxoSmithKline, responsible for supporting the performance and vitality of Managers and employees in R&D sites across the UK.

Wendy has lived and worked in the France, The Netherlands and the UK, and has been based in Amsterdam for the last 13 years.
